The procedure is automatic, or a petition can be filed. Conn. Gen. Stat. § 54-142a(c)(2). Upon request, the records can be destroyed three years after the date of final disposition. Conn. Gen. Stat. § 54-142a(e)(1).

Effect
The person is deemed to have never been arrested and can say so under oath. Conn. Gen. Stat. § 54-142a(e)(3).
