Missouri: Adult Convictions (MO-C-5)

Records of certain felony convictions can be expunged by the court seven years after sentence completion. Mo. Rev. Stat. § 610.140(5)(1).

Procedure General

The petition must be filed in the court of conviction. A person cannot have more than one felony offense expunged. For the specific procedure, see Mo. Rev. Stat. § 610.140.

Fees

$250, waivable if the person cannot pay. Mo. Rev. Stat. §488.650.

Effect

Expunged record must be disclosed on applications for occupational licenses and with employers in some instances. The person is restored to pre-arrest status and need not disclose information related to the case or expungement, except in legal proceedings and in the circumstances specified in sections 610.140(8)-(10).
