2012 National Transitional Jobs Network Conference: Restoring the Promise of Work
A disproportionate number of people with barriers to entering the labor market - including those with little or no work history or skills, living in unstable housing, with criminal records, and/or with low literacy - continue to face alarming rates of unemployment far surpassing national averages.
Subsidized employment and transitional jobs programs support access to employment, earned income and real work experience for those with employment barriers. Given the realities of our current labor market and the challenges that lay ahead, the mandate for the Restoring the Promise of Work Conference is to advance the field of subsidized employment and transitional jobs.
