Reentry Employment Series: A Criminal Record Does Not Prevent
While a criminal record certainly creates a challenge, it does not prevent clients from working. Typically other barriers such as generational poverty, an individual's limited knowledge of the world of work, the correctional system itself and failing attitudes are greater barriers to employment. In fact, most employers say they WOULD NOT refuse to hire someone just because of a past criminal conviction! This workshop will cover typical barriers in a unique, thought-provoking manner. If you want to understand some of the underlying issues and need help developing strategies to overcome, this workshop is for you!
