Rethinking Prisoner Reentry in the Era of Mass Incarceration (Coral Gables, FL)
On Friday, February 26, the University of Miami Psychology, Public Policy, and Law Journal (PPP&L) will host a symposium titled "Rethinking Prisoner Reentry in the Era of Mass Incarceration." Jeremy Travis, the keynote speaker, is the President of John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York City. Panelists include: Professor Bruce J. Winick, the Director of the UM Law’s Therapeutic Jurisprudence Center; Steven Leifman, Miami-Dade County Judge; Vicki Lopez Lukis, Vice-Chairman, Florida Reentry Advisory Council/Former Chairman, Governor Bush's Ex-Offender Task Force; and Ahsaki Guilbeaux, Reentry Coordinator, Federal Detention Center, Miami.The symposium will be held from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. in the University of Miami Law School, 1311 Miller Drive, Coral Gables, FL, Room 352, with reception to follow.
