Making Second Chances Work: A Conference for Grantees Committed to Successful Reentry, May 26-27, 2010

Conference Session: Strengthening Pro-Social Support and Developing Effective Mentor Programs: The Intersection of Faith and Justice

May 26 (10:45 a.m. - 12:15 p.m.) and May 27 (8:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.)

When faith and justice programs work together to facilitate a person’s transition home, the powerful combination of effective supervision, targeted services, and pro-social support becomes possible. The speakers described the Healing Communities Model to illustrate the many possibilities that exist in exploring the intersection of faith and justice, and discussed how to develop an effective mentor program that can complement a broader strategy for strengthening pro-social support.
