Allegheny County Jail gets $610,000 to use proven rehabilitation strategies

10/12/09 Pittsburgh Tribune-Review—Federal officials awarded nearly $610,000 in Second Chance Act funds to the jail to expand its inmate rehabilitation programs. The money will enable jail officials to assess each inmate's needs and goals upon arrival, and then unite family members, probation officers and human service workers to help inmates stay on track, get training, jobs and housing after release.
