Checks on transient sex offenders uneven in Colorado

8/31/11 Denver Post—Denver has about 85 homeless sex offenders registered in the city — more than any other jurisdiction in the state. Tracking them down is a tedious but necessary task to notify the community of their presence and gather intelligence in case of an abduction or sex assault. But not all law enforcement agencies in Colorado are following Valencia's lead.
