Equal justice?

5/21/10 Indianapolis Recorder—Here is the story of two average teenagers whose life was forever changed by a split second incident involving a gun. Both cases are similar, however, some believe justice was unequally served. “Justice is unequal because it’s always been that way. More of us have to speak up for one another and until we get our government to change laws, it’s going to be that way,” said Indianapolis resident Charlita Thompkins. “We’ve made strides, but we still have too many of our (Black) people locked up and charged with really long sentences.”
