11/3/09 Star-Ledger—Cynthia Taylor has come a long way. The forty-four year-old Newark resident was a heroin and cocaine addict who spent eight years in prison for robbery. Today, she is a full-time college student studying to be a youth counselor, volunteers for local organizations, and has become a stable presence in the lives of her five children.
